NX: Race / slalom / speed / 4 cambers. De NX-serie is een puur en snel racezeil. Het zeil evolueert ieder jaar met telkens kleine verbeteringen. De layout, geometrie en panelopbouw blijven in de basis gelijk. Voor 2011 worden de naden met nog meer 3D-seaming gemaakt. Dit levert een nog beter voorgevormd profiel op, dat voor 2011 ook nog wat verder door naar boven loopt. De maten 5,4 m2 en 6,2 m2 zijn op RDM gesneden, de grotere maten op SDM. De Hucker is niet in een "hokje" te plaatsen. Te gebruiken op freewave en (snelle) waveboards, freerideboards en slalomboards. Het zeil is snel, heeft zeer veel lift voor hoge sprongen en airtime, heeft veel power door het hele zeil heen naar boven toe (veel hefboom) en is net zoals alle Sailworks met de beste materialen gemaakt en bulletproof. "All of our NX Formula sails are heavily biased to low end / mid range power, in other words: our NX sails punch al lot of power per m2. This trend started  5 years ago when inadvertently tested a smaller sail on a mast stiffer and harder in the tip than intended, and were stunned at its power and range. We began to question why we would carry excess sail area only to diffuse the its optimal lifting configuration to something more manageable. This lead to reduced rates of twist, increased and higher shaping profiles, and more effectual power performance. It’s a premise that is at the center of our sail designs. We make sails that favor larger and more aggressive riders who know how to handle sail power. I am 186cm tall and 90kg in the harness, and am always on the smallest sail in our fleet for my size. I race 9.1 when my competitors are on 10; 9.9 when they race 11, 10.8 when they pull 12's. Our sails are powerful, especially if you follow our mast setting and tuning adjustments. The caveat to this approach is the requirements of the light wind planing threshold. There is a point, probably around 7-8 knots, where nothing in the sail design or tuning configuration will trump lateral area for performance. This is a very narrow band that we call the aerobic zone - where if you get moving, and start flapping the sail you can create some momentum. Our heavy guys run our 9.1 NX all the time for light wind slalom on 125 - 140 slalom boards. The geometry of the 9.1 suits both formula or light slalom. We run 130-140 litre slalom boards with 45-50 cm fins with the 9.1 NX. I think the most important suggestion I could impart with to Sailworks NX gear and your size, is that you must have powerful boards and fins. Regarding pure speedsailing on the NX 6.2 and 5.4 sizes, here is the tweaking we have done for pure speed runs. You don't need more power from the top of the sail, you need more twist to run deeper off the wind.  We have been running the 5.4 and 6.2 on mismatched masts to increase the disparity in shape and tension from the top to bottom of the sail.  For the 6.2 we run a Backbone 460 RDM base with a 430 RDM top.  For the 5.4 we run a 430 RDM base with a 400 RDM top".
